Calculators and local files
The tools run in your browser. This site’s application code does not upload the CSVs you load, your calculated results or the collaboration brief you write. Exports are generated locally for download.
Reading lists
Saved paper identifiers are stored in this browser’s local storage. They are not synchronized across browsers or devices. Clearing site data removes the list.
Shared input links
A tool’s share action puts its numeric inputs into the URL. Anyone with that link can see those values, and the URL may appear in browser history or hosting request logs. CSV contents are not put into the shared link.
Google Analytics and cookie choices
Weatherhill’s public website uses Google Analytics to understand visits and which pages people use. The Google tag loads when a page opens. Analytics cookie storage starts denied unless this browser has a valid saved choice allowing it. Before you choose, or if you decline analytics cookies, Google can still receive consent signals and limited cookieless measurements. Declining keeps analytics cookies off; it does not stop all communication with Google.
If you choose Allow analytics cookies, the tag can use first-party analytics cookies to measure visits. Google may process page and consent information, browser and device information and approximate location associated with a network connection. Cookieless requests also involve a network connection to Google. Google processes analytics information under its own privacy policy.
Our page-view code removes the query string and fragment from the page address and referring address it supplies. We do not add analytics events containing contact or application fields, CSV contents, calculation values or saved reading lists. This describes the code we control; the Google Analytics property can have additional measurement settings.
Advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalization stay denied in this integration. Google signals and ad-personalization signals are disabled in its tag configuration.
We save your allow-or-decline choice in this browser for up to six months, separately from your reading list. The analytics cookies configured by this integration also have a six-month lifetime. Clearing site data removes the choice. If your browser cannot save it, your choice applies to the current page and the controls explain that limitation.
Use Analytics settings in the footer to change your choice. Declining or withdrawing cookie permission sets analytics storage to denied and attempts to remove this integration’s analytics cookies. Limited cookieless measurements and consent signals can continue. Your current forms and calculations stay in place. Withdrawal does not delete information already received by Google.
Hosting and external sites
Pages and the research catalog are delivered by the hosting service, which may process ordinary access and security information. This site’s application code includes no advertising pixels or newsletter collection. Analytics and cookie choices are described above. Publisher, dataset and repository links take you to separate services with their own policies.
Contact inquiries
When you submit the contact form, your name, email address, optional organization, selected topic and message are sent to the site’s server and forwarded to weatherhill’s inquiry inbox. Your address is used to reply to you. It is not published on the site or added to a mailing list by this application.
The forms use a temporary session cookie to protect submissions and carry a receipt or validation errors after a redirect. Unsent or failed form values may remain briefly in that server session while you correct or retry a submission. Spam controls use a keyed hash of the connection IP address and short-lived attempt counts; message contents are not written to the rate-limit files. The hosting and email services may keep their own access, delivery and security logs.
Inquiry emails remain in the receiving mailbox for handling and follow-up. To request correction or deletion of information you submitted, use the contact form and identify the relevant inquiry. Avoid sending sensitive personal data or confidential research material through a public inquiry form.
Capability brief builder
The collaboration brief builder remains a local document tool. Downloading a brief does not send it. A message is submitted only when you use a form’s send action.
Scientist recruitment inquiries
The scientist expression-of-interest form sends your name, email address, selected research focus, public work links, contribution statement and any optional organization or location you supply to weatherhill’s inquiry inbox. These details are used to assess research fit and respond to you. The form does not request identity documents, financial details, medical information, family circumstances or attachments. Please submit only public work and information you have permission to share.
Recruitment inquiries use the same session protection, spam controls and email handling described above. Submissions and replies remain in the receiving mailbox for review and follow-up; this application does not automatically delete emails after a fixed period. To withdraw your interest or request correction or deletion of your submission, use the contact form and identify the inquiry. That request can be considered alongside any recordkeeping obligations that apply. Submitting an inquiry does not add you to a mailing list.
